Hello all. To make things clearer I will elaborate on what norwegian news has given us so far. 7 people have so far been found killed from the attack in the center of Oslo. The attack was directed towards the administrative building for our government, but it detonated after work hours.
85 youth have been killed on a political youth meeting. The meeting was based on an island as it is every year. The gunman is suspected to be the same person who is responsible for the Oslo bombing. The gunman was dressed as a police officer and encouraged his victims to come out under the cover of this disguise. He continued shooting these young people for 1.5 hours before he surrendered to the police. The culprit is of norwegian origin, 32 years of age, describes himself as a Christian conservative, and has very against a multicultural society and Islam.
The focus of the attack was directed against the major ruling party (we have a coalition government) Arbeider Partiet (Labor Party).
This fucking breaks my heart. Kids maybe younger then 14 were on this summercamp. Out of 650ish 85 have perished and the police said that they are picking up bodyparts. It's so god damn fucking sad

In per capita terms, probably a similar percentage of the Norwegians were killed yesterday as Americans were on 9/11. I know that a greater percentage of Australians were killed in Bali than Americans in New York. There are lots of Americans. Much more land + a dominant religion/mindset that encourages making lots of babbies. Somehow, I'm not surprised... I'm not sure off hand if the US has much more land than Australia, but the land here is much easier to use for things like agriculture. Which is effectively more land, but not quite the same. |

I think Norway has some of the same issues with land use due to mountains. It's definitely sparsely populated (link). |

Bombs and automatic weapons. Who cares, either way he's a shitstain.
In many ways life imprisonment is better than the death penalty for this kind of fucker. 22 hour lockdown in protective custody to keep you away from the other prisoners so they don't torture and/or murder you. Human interaction is limited to guards and criminals who both hate you with equal venom, bored psychiatrists who'll treat you like a grotesque curiosity and your family - if they'll even acknowledge you after pulling something that flat-out evil.
Death lets them escape, life gives the turd 22 hours in cell wondering if they pissed, shat or spat in his food staring at his reflection in the cell mirror reflecting on what an almighty selfish, useless arsehole he is.
Man, I hate[/i] this scumbag. Sorry 'bout the rant.

How the hell was he able to kill 85-90 kids in the space of an hour and a half? Ironbite-shouldn't someone have been able to stop him after the first 20? Who and how? It's an isolated little island packed with kids. If this was pre-cell phone era, the body count would have been even higher. This was very carefully planned to maximize the time he had so he could maximize the body count, which given the accounts of his shooting the wounded, is exactly what he had in mind. |

^I totally agree, let the shitstain rot, he doesn't deserve death. In fact, can we keep him alive forever? And place images of the people he murdered in his cell in such a way that he can't destroy them or cover them up. Spending eternity surrounded by the faces of the people you killed. |

You can't do a prick like that any good, for the sake of the principles of fair justice and humane treatment you can only lock him away without any deliberately cruel or unusual punishment until he stops wasting oxygen!

I may hate her politics (very right wing even to this day, and yet unknowingly hypocritical) but I'm hoping she's okay.
