Regarding the facility in the video, I was under the impression that prisoners were only transferred there if they've complete most of their sentence and show signs of successful rehabilitation. It's not like all Norwegian prisons are like that.

They're going to hop on the "Video games made him do it!" bandwagon now that his manifesto has been made public. He makes references to "mission objectives", including a "bonus mission", and other terms that make it sound like he was treating the whole thing like a game.

I don't care if it's more effective or not, I want my murderers and rapists to not have a standard of living that exceeds that of hard working, law abiding citizens. You should be punished for such crimes, not tacitly rewarded. What's wrong with rehabilitating a person and making them a useful member of society? It doesn't slake the blood lust?

Yep, if you can't blame Muslims, video games and internet are a good stand by. Unfortunately people just aren't whipped into a lathered frenzy over rock 'n roll any more Ooh... $10 says someone will mainpage a quote about this being because there is no public prayer in schools in the next week! ETA: *Facepalm* I can't believe I forgot the Freemason/Zionist plot! idiot, such a rookie mistake! Columbine ring a bell for anyone?

Lead paragraph from Norwegian newspaper Moss avis:
Which means, he doesn't perceive his actions as a crime. He still sees himself as a crusader and a European Hero.
Also, from The Times:
Actually, I'm against closed doors in the court. FYI, the trial hasn't started yet, this was merely a meeting to determine whether there's a reason to keep him imprisoned until his case comes up.
I hope the actual trial will be held in an open court. You can't beat this kind of people by silencing them.

So now we have:
Muslim
Christian
Freemason
Zionist
Nazi
Gamer
We just need to add "reptilian" and "reincarnation of Vidkun Quisling" to the list and we have the lot I reckon.

Columbine ring a bell for anyone? Columbine had nothing to do with Nazis or anything of the sort. Columbine was the result of bullying that was ignored despite several outreaches. Just because it fell upon Hitler's birthday does not mean it is automatically linked to the Nazi movement. They originally intended for it to outdo other attacks like the Oklahoma City Bombing (meaning that it would happen on those dates). There was also the fact that it was close to activities a lot of high schools do at the end of the school year. Lots of activities means a lot of people are present and people somehow don't expect such a thing to happen. I would appreciate if you didn't give in to the squawking and insisting that Columbine was Nazi-related. In other news, Mr. Shitstain has asked if he can be seen in court in uniform.

However... if you were reading or watching much news at the time, you may recall the constant, near hysterical claims about Klebold and Harris being members of "Nazi internet forums". I am pointing out the similarity between the hysterical knee-jerk "there must be someone to blame" flailing that goes on in the wake of these sorts of tragedies. I doubt, though, that he is asking to appear in a NAZI uniform. He is one record as being highly critical of the NAZIs, in fact, and regards himself as a Poor Brother Knight of the Temple of Solomon, rather than a NAZI. However, I look forward to months and months of conflating this guy with NAZIs, with utter disregard to the actual facts regarding what either this guy or the NAZIs actually believed. Because distorting history to simplify current events never gets old.

Likewise, the forum "Nordisk" may be started and run by Nazis, and Breivik was certainly a member there, but he is not a Nazi, there are other kinds of right wing extremism, just like everybody on the political left aren't communists.

You positive? Cause you coulda worded what you said a little bit better. It wouldn't surprise me if you weren't considering your track record. Way to misread what I was saying, LHM. I didn't specify the uniform on purpose. Also quit giving Nazi all-caps. Judge rules Norway terror suspect will be held in complete isolation for 4 weeks Link: www.msnbc.msn.com/id/43873009/ns/world_news-europe/ (this is also my citation for his remark about wanting to appear in uniform) "Breivik wrote in his manifesto, posted hours before his attacks, that if he survived his assault and was arrested, this would "mark the initiation of the propaganda phase"." He wants to be a martyr without dying. His uniform he wants to appear in is thus: A vague military uniform. He hasn't even decided what he wants it to resemble. But he says he wants it military of some kind.

But he says he wants it military of some kind. NAZI is an acronym, thus all caps is appropriate. If you make a post about NAZIs, and suddenly veer of talking about people wanting to wear a uniform, with no further explanation, people are going to think you're talking about NAZI uniforms. And yes, I'm positive, since, if you look at the rest of the quote you singled out the columbine bit from, its talking about how the media regularly flails around looking to blame anyone and everyone for stuff like this, like rock and roll, the internet, and computer games.

Actually it's a misconception that the Columbine killers were simply out for revenge against bullies. Eric Harris was a textbook psychopath while Dylan Klebold was a depressed little follower who obeyed whatever he said. They were basically out to get noticed and to kill as many people as possible in order to do so: www.slate.com/id/2099203/
