Dunno. Both are rich, first world, English-speaking, former British colonies that fucked over their native populations and aren't the US? Beyond that, I'm stumped. It's because you're all English. ALL OF YOU. For my own happiness, I intend to interpret such confusion as indicative of a sort of universalism, a human brotherhood, a noble view that all Commonwealth nations, regardless of hemisphere, population, or politics, are America's hat. I like to think of Canada, the US and Australia as siblings, with England as the wise-cracking, but loving mother. The US is the serious, straight-laced older brother, while Canada is the free-spirited younger sibling, both engaging in sibling rivalry but still having each others backs when shit gets real. Australia is the half-brother who shows up, calls you a bastard and punches you in the arm, but you don't mind, 'cause you know it's all in good fun.

I hope you guys realize I'm trying my damnedest to keep my SatW references to one per thread, and you're not making it easy.

I wonder how these people will react when they find out the guy wasn't Muslim? this way: Lunapipistrellus says: July 23, 2011 at 7:29 am It’s impossible this attack could have been perpetrated by a white, armed, fundamentalist Christian Conservative. Find a black Muslim to arrest.

Okay
I know enough about what's going on around me to know that... more than 91 people died in 9/11.
And specifically, I wish that people (none in this thread, just in general) would stop re-opening that wound. America has to move on from 9/11, it was a horrible tragedy, but we've survived horrible tragedies before and moved past them. All we're doing right now is holding a grudge against an entire religion (and by extension, the 'race' of people that tend to come from that area where Islam is prominent) and have either outdone 9/11 or come close to 9/11 (speaking civilian fatality count, here) to a foreign land we invaded.
That being said, my bigger concern is why this tragedy is apparently being pushed off the side of the front page of that magazine. Apparently, ads are more important than a gunman and his ally slaughtering many helpless kids, and bombing another location. Even from a greedy, capitalistic viewpoint, slaughter is sensationalistic, and is thus more eye-catching than... everything else on that page. So why's it the second smallest thing there?

*facepalm* Al-Qaeda was responsible for the attacks in Norway. In other premature news headlines, Dewey defeated Truman.

America has to move on from 9/11, it was a horrible tragedy, but we've survived horrible tragedies before and moved past them. It just shows how sad the state of political discourse is. Something bad happens and it becomes the automatic benchmark for other bad things. I'm beyond sick of hearing people attach the suffix "-gate" to words to highlight a scandal. Especially when the scandal is small and almost irrelevant. Political scandals are inevitably compared to Watergate and now large-scale terrorist attacks will inevitably be compared to 9/11. Mumbai was India's 9/11, the Madrid train bombings were Spain's 9/11, etc. ad nauseum.

Then again, I'm tired and that's a very busy cover. Sounds like someone used a beta headline and forgot to update it.

I look at all these comments transitioning from "How's that multiculturalism working out for you?" to "OMG Terrorism! Kill all Muslims for hurting our innocents!" directly into "Oh, it was a bunch of socialists that got wasted. No big loss. In fact kill some more, the're barely a step up from Muslims." It's because at the end of the day, they don't give a shit that 91 people died. They only care about promoting their ignorance. Anyways, most of those "socialists" who died probably wouldn't have wished the same thing on these assholes.

Oh yeah, and as if it really needs saying: Alex Jones is making claims of a false flag operation.
Like he has done with everything since the Big Bang.
