Instead of sitting on the internet whining about it all day go out and kick some arse. Instead of sitting on the internet repeating bullshit stereotypes and giving idiotic advice, go out and learn something before talking out of your ass.

Unions are actually part of the problem here in America, in that for every 2 - 3 unions that are doing their job we have another union where the membership is largely only in it for themselves. Ah...Stereotypical justification.

Although the thought of Americans actualy going out and fighting for justice instead of just whining about how unfair it all is is quite funny in itself, you might have to turn your telly off and stop stuffing your faces with food. That's such a fun little stereotype. There is a lot more modern data, but Wayne et al (1987) comes to mind. Americans are not that much more obese than Canadians or the British. The difference population-wise is ~10%. So you can fancy yourself fat or thin, but 10% is not a whole lot of a difference--doubt you could tell a crowd of people with 10% more obese people from another.

Also it's amazing how we became obese over night? How? Because the government decided to lower the BMI number that said you were obese. There's also a corelation between poverty and obesity. Sorry, it's just a lot cheaper to live off of Ramen noodles and Kraft Dinner than to buy decent food.

Politicians in the US have been pressured to live on food stamps for a week, just a week to see what it's like to get by on 21-50 USD per week to spark a change in policy. A plea for realism really. There's a reason why the 'food stamp diet' is so carb heavy, because that's the only thing that's affordable. (http://foodstampchallenge.typepad.com/)

I have to give it to Sky that he has the stamina and gall to keep repeating propaganda and lies about just about everything.
So okey, I'm sure there are others here who know better than I on the topic of mormon marriage but I'll give it a shot.
Legal marriage is NOT the same as SEALING, which is mormonese for a non civil recognised religious marriage (yes, sealing also means being sealed to parents and children ).
Therefore legal divorce is not the same as revocation of a sealing. It is perfectly possible for the husband to deny revocation of sealing, whicjh means that the woman can't have another temple "marriage' while still being legally divorced.
Of course it's all a bunch of meaningless crap inless you really believe.
The sad part is that abusers can make the "wife" beleive that she will be sealed to her "husband" forever and there is nothing she can do about it. Imagine that. Living with an abuser for all eternity.
The same goes for children of abusers.
The truly truly sad part is that there have been recorded cases of suicide. Suicide because the victim uses going to hell as a way to escape from eternal abuse.

I'll be back

And give Karl a break.
He's quite right in that if americans stopped watching Beck on the telly and surfing freerepublic , and hence stopped watching and reading crap and propaganda, and actually looked at their lives realistically they might do something to improve it.
Of course similar could be said for many peoples.

O RLY? Would you like to come with me on a tour of a few of the better BDSM dungeons here in Chicago sometime? Or maybe you'd prefer Seattle where they have some of the best bondage shops in the country? Or San Fransisco where finding the right dungeon is almost as tedious as finding the right doctor to take care of you when you accidentally spill the sex wax? Or New York where rumor has it you can find all the best drag queen dominatrices this side of the pond? Or New Orleans where my father is getting himself acquainted with some of the finest leather shops he's ever patronized? Or any of a number of other lesser-known cities where people are slapping, whipping, fucking, pissing, taping, dancing, tying, burning, waxing, stomping, stretching, cutting, piercing, painting, shitting, dressing, eating, biting, sucking, bleeding, caging, caning, and otherwise sexing each other to bits for a nominal membership fee? I'll even lend you my collar. ;D

What the hell sort of backward pigshit thick country do you guys live in? No unions, uncontrolled insane religious groups, no sexual freedom, insipid right wing politics. What america needs is a good old fashioned armed revolution if you ask me. Instead of sitting on the internet whining about it all day go out and kick some arse. Here's the problem, you've got an opinion based on the bullshit people hear about. Odds are you didn't hear about my local congressman smacking a corporation upside it's head before it did something which WOULD have driven it out of business. Odds are you don't hear a damn thing about the things the country does right, because frankly we take it for granted here. What you hear about is what the loud idiots are blathering today, and frankly if I did that with the crap from other countries I'd probably be entirely pro-nuclear war. We have a system set up to be beaten into new shapes as things come at us, and we have conservatives who fight it at every turn. So of course you'll hear about them, it's a remarkable amount of failure given the ideology itself opposes the very system it's trying to work within. Although the thought of Americans actualy going out and fighting for justice instead of just whining about how unfair it all is is quite funny in itself, you might have to turn your telly off and stop stuffing your faces with food. Hey, if you really believe that, I'll sit on you and you can find out if we're all fat or not. Gah, shit like this is why I read news rather than watch it, once it's filtered through the whiney bitch and rampant jackass people it gets reduced to nothing more than stereotypes and ignorance. Which seems to be what most people want.
