I don't come here much (I'm a visitor from RR), but when I do I find it amusing when people here gripe about being booted from RR for various reasons. Atheists are only allowed on the Apologists forum and they must state when they sign up that they are an atheist to gain permission to post there. I’m not an atheist. Did you even read the original thread? I’m not an atheist. Did you even read my original post on this thread? I’m not an atheist. I had been a member of RR since February, 2008. Did you check back to see anything else I’d posted? Your torture-apologist mod-daddy certainly didn’t. Water-boarding is torture. Torture is wrong. People who support it ought to be ashamed of themselves. That goes against the philosophy of your board? Are you always this stupid or is this merely a special circumstance?

Not everyone on this board is an atheist.
And I remember seeing someone booted off your boards for stating that the rapture may not happen in our lifetime.
And how does opposing torture make one a bad Christian? When Jesus said "Love your enemy" I don't remember him saying unless you really really don't like the guy.

Atheists are only allowed on the Apologists forum and they must state when they sign up that they are an atheist to gain permission to post there. When you go over there and post to other forums, OF COURSE you are going to get booted! You're an atheist!! You're not allowed there! And you can't hide your nature, eventually you post something that makes it clear that you are an atheist. You're not getting kicked off because of one comment, but when you make a comment that goes against the philosophy of the boards then that puts you under the microscope and it's hard to hide your leanings then. You know, not everyone here is an atheist. No, wait, I'm wagering you don't know that. See, I am (well, agnostic, but there seems to be no difference to the RR crowd), but I've never posted on RR. Other folks, however, aren't. See, this is "Fundies Say The Darndest Things," not "LOL CHRISTIANS ARE ALL FUCKING RETARDED!!!!!" Let's differentiate. We have Christians on here, including at least one admin. I don't have a problem with the fact that they're Christians. Now...Hardcore Jesus freaks justifying torture? I think that's adorable and despicable at the same time. In summary, neither is FSTDT anti-Christian nor non-Christian as a whole. Unless you discount Christians who don't agree with things like drowning potentially innocent people as "atheists." In which case, the "say the darndest things" bit applies to you. Otherwise, bringing up the "atheists aren't allowed" does little except make you lot look even less reasonable and more bigoted. ...Not that you need any held with that, given the rest of your post.

RRvisitor, I beg to differ. I was posting under the guise of a believer for a good time at Rapture Ready, and was completely unsuspected. I went around various threads in various sections espousing my true beliefs with just enough Christianity and reverence mixed in to make me harmless (and in some cases, seriously considered).
The ruse ended when I chose for it to end, and nobody saw it coming, because I was behaving as a normal Christian. I claimed to love God and Jesus, I expressed a (real) sense of hopelessness and pity for the general state of the world at sometimes and a (real) hope for its future at others as well as a (false) desire to see the day when Jesus would return to create the good kingdom promised in your group's particular interpretation of what the bible has to say. I expressed (real) pity and concern when others spoke of their hardships, and shared a (real if somewhat identity disguised) few of my own. I may not have actually prayed for them, but I did desire to see their lives change for the better. I became (truly) outraged by what I perceived as injustices, and at the appropriate time and place I made jokes and engaged in levity. I even (seriously) contemplated and discussed various passages of the bible. In my mind, this was how a Christian would behave.
When I outed myself and reverted to who I really am, the only parts of the above that changed were that I stuck to my designated area, I stopped pretending to believe in God, and I stopped hiding my identity. Everything else remained, because what remained was never a lie to begin with. It just happened to fit with Christian behavior.
Some of us actually do understand you all beyond the horrendous caricature occasionally presented to us by the more extreme points of view shared by some of your community's members.
Just as there are those among us who do not paint you all with the same brush, I would ask you offer us the same.

Dollars to doughnuts says it's a flood of loonies from RR abusing the exalt and smite functions.

I got banned for confusing versions of the bible. Not because I was an atheist. I got the KJV and the NIV confused, and Buzzardhut didn't like that and I got booted. Just sayin'. Not all of us who got banned did so because we were going against your board's philosophy. Just a simple misunderstanding, and WHAM! BAM! I got whacked upside the head with the banhammer.

Atheists are only allowed on the Apologists forum and they must state when they sign up that they are an atheist to gain permission to post there. So your moderators feel that they must marginalize any and all new members? BTW, did you have to declare any religious affliation, personal beliefs, or compacts when you signed up to post here? Where any limitations on your right to expression, or in what threads you may post placed on you? Do you really expect to see your post deleted in the near future? Funny, my current membership in RR has now exceeded 100 posts. In my posts I've disagreed with other members, moderators, and how both have interrupted the Bible. In other posts I've agreed with long standing members who showed a degree of reason and then seen them banned, or reduced to read only, because they did not seem to tow the party line. Also, it seems that whenever a member posts material that either proves or lends strong support to a position that RR is attacking, or in disagreement with, one of the first questions asked of the poster is usually something to do with his/her relationship with God. Often followed by one of the mods shuttingthe thread down? Do you have so few members who can debate the subject in a rational, logical mannor?

I had several hundred posts over there and got banned when I expressed my exasperation with the accusations that Obama was a Muslum.

RRvisitor, It would seem that your position, RR only bans atheists, has been shown to be both faulty and in error. Care to provide any explaniation?
