I disagree; to me, that gave the impression that they conducted a bunch more tests than they show, then edit it down to the few that they like the most. This is supported by the fact that they show a much wider array of weapons laid out for the testers than they test on the show; if they only planned to test the few they show themselves testing, why have all the extras?

It's a little disappointing that the problems with the show just seem to keep piling up.
Maybe they tested more, & will be on some kind of extras thing in DVD format. I don't intend on buying it, so I will most likely never know, unless you tell us when you get it.
Also, and this might be another example of my videogame nerd side speaking (Axel), but they should've shown the chakrams!
(Can't watch it tonight. Maybe on Memorial Day weekend. Then again, I will be pretty busy with projects. In any case, I'll just have to remember that the link is in here.)

For me I watch for the background on the warriors and the weapons tests. The simulations are crap at best because the seem to just take into account weapons Vs weapons and don't look at the warrior's total sets of skills. One example, in the Pirate Vs. Knight episode they gave the Knight the advantage in long range weapons because of the knights armor. At the same time in short range weapons they scored the two swords equal, ignoring the fact that the Pirate's cutlass would have to get through the knights armor, or just be used for smashing.

Yeah, I guess that's kind of what I watch it for, too. The fight scenes are also pretty interesting, despite being very badly done, from a logical standpoint.
Just watched the maori vs. monk episode.
I never base my opinion on the "weapon edge" things. They're often arbitrary, & I sometimes disagree on them. Like, yeah, the thing with the club; it could have done more damage, but the monk could have dealt with it effectively with any weapon he had access to.
I sort of do my own "edge" thing, and say, "Fuck those guys."
Actually, this is one of the few battles in which I liked the portrayl. The maori kept pushing the monk back & generally being an insane douche. Then, when the monk finally gets the edge, the maori just tackles him. And the whole time, I got the sense that each of them were going, "WTF" at the other.
Also, looking over some of the past posts, I've had a thought: Who else wants to see Goku vs. Barret?

They actually didn't show chakrams; the weapon they showed is a martial-arts weapon called a wind-fire wheel. The jagged protrusions were designed to help catch weapons and disarm opponents; it can also be used as a throwing weapon like a chakram or an oversized shuriken.
Personally, I'd like to see them start doing tests on warriors that had similar tactics, like Apache vs. Ninja or somesuch. The only one they've done like that so far was the Green Beret vs. Spetsnaz.
On that note, am I the only one amused that the Green Beret vs Spetsnaz fight started as a complete landslide for the GB, only to have almost the entire GB squad wiped out by a single Spetsnaz?

How the battle between Green Beret vs. Spetsnaz went was rather bullshit at the start and end.
It was bullshit at the start how the Green Beret damn near wiped out the entire Spetsnaz squad right then and there and then it became even more bullshit how one Spetsnaz wiped out 90% of the Green Beret squad.

I would watch this program if Billy Mays duels the Sham Wow guy.
The host of the program practically has orgasms while heaping praise on the warriors. It's just too over the top, automatic and generic. After five minutes I must find the clicker and escape.

That would be an interesting dual, although I think many ears would be bleeding by the time it was over.

The second he opened his mouth, Billy Mays would want to buy a towel, & he'd have no idea why. Then the Sham Wow guy would shoot him after he made his purchase.

Billy Mays wouldn't even have to speak and the Sham Wow Guy would be bankrupt into submission by buying all the shit Billy Mays has done ads for.

I'd vote for the Sham Wow guy. I've vote for Billy Mays. He's bigger, and the Sham Wow guy has already proven that he can't even beat up a girl without getting bloodied up pretty bad in return.

Billy Mays would just let his awesome vocal cords loose, and the sonic boom would knock the other guy into the next state.
