I'd be interested to see how well Spartan shields and armor would stand up to the kind of firearms they had in feudal Japan. (Not very well, I'd guess)

Apparently, there was an assassination attempt on Nobunaga, and it failed because although he was shot with 2 bullets, his armor prevented him from sustaining mortal wounds.
That is all I know about that.

They tested firearms against chainmail, and it stopped it. But they tried it against the plate armor that Spartans would wear and it dented. The stronger the bullet the more it would punch through.
I think.

That's a little weird. Of course I suppose what the wearer has under it could matter like when I asked about chainmail stopping arrows.

It's in the older episodes somewhere.

My guess would be that the chainmail simply returns to its shape after it's been hit, while the plate armor does not.

Anyone see the season finale?
How was it? Has Deadliest Warrior jumped the shark?

I missed the French Foreign Legion vesus Whoever, but I saw the vampire versus zombie episode.
It was definetely something to see three vampires against a hundred some odd zombies and only suffer one casualty.

I saw the FFL V the Gurkhas but had to go to work and missed the Vampires V Zombies. I looked up the episode on wiki, it doesn't look that interesting. How was it overall?
French Foreign Legion V Gurkhas was one of the least bias episodes. I thought it was good.
Spoiler for that fight. The French Foreign Legion lost to the Gurkhas.

Frankly, it sounds like they did ages ago. I missed the French Foreign Legion vesus Whoever, but I saw the vampire versus zombie episode. It was definetely something to see three vampires against a hundred some odd zombies and only suffer one casualty. Sounds about right. Vampires: Super strength, flight, super speed, weakness to MacGuffin X. Zombies: Shambling corpse, bite & scratch, infect people, angry & instinctive. It's essentially Superman versus a bunch of advance-stage heroin addicts. The only reason any of the vampires died is because they bullshitted a reason for how they could be infected by zombiism, correct?

Or because one vampire was essentially butchering the entire hoard till' the other came out of nowhere as it got swarmed.
