I myself will pick a sub over a dub, purely because I enjoy at least hearing the original voice acting (even if I can't understand it directly). More often than not, it tends to be better (though not always, mind you), and reading subs is something that doesn't bother me, because it is something I grew up with a lot as a kid (watching imported shows on Portuguese TV, etc).
However, there are certain shows which I prefer the dubbing to the subbed version. Cases in point: Cowboy Bebop & Ghost In The Shell (movies and series both have great dubs). General quality of the dubbing in these shows is generally extremely good, and feels natural to listen to. It doesn't feel forced and I end up preferring it to the subs. And of course, I've watched the Cowboy Bebop series in both dubbed and subbed just to make sure if I preferred one or the other. In that case, the dubbed version won.
Overall though, I just prefer subbed versions of foreign shows and movies. I'm not sure how I could enjoy City of God as a dubbed version (though, even if you are Portuguese, you'll probably need the subtitles because they speak in very heavy slang most of the time), and the same goes with Pan's Labyrinth, and then a lot of anime shows. It gives more of the feel of the culture I'm experiencing (through the movie/show/etc), and in that I like to enjoy.

Keep in mind that my opinion is based almost entirely on Death Note and Miyazaki's works. Those are basically the only anime I watch, although I was a pokemon fan when I was a kid along with every other kid in the Hemisphere. DeathNote has a very critically acclaimed dub as well as a very accurate translation as does Miyazaki's work (well, with the exception of the original Nausicaa dub, but then, that was back during the early 90s). Miyazaki actually refuses to work with any localization company that would edit his work due to his (justified) opinion that modifying it from its original form is damaging to his original vision. Luckily Disney of all people is very happy to work without editing his work and providing excellent voice actors (Christian Bale as Howl in Howl's Moving Castle for example) that many fans (including myself) actually prefer over the Japanese acting (though Miyazaki would prefer if his work stayed subbed only, but realizes that dubbing isn't a very big deal if 1) the acting is high quality and 2) the script retains the story, themes and feel of the Japanese script.) I will note that Disney's contract with Studio Ghibli came back to bite them in the ass when they release Pom Poko. I may have to pick up a copy of that some time.

The fact that I've recently gotten a 2nd anime site to work for me has encouraged me. I think next week, I'll search for a site where I can watch Bleach in English, rather than continue straining my eyes on a line of text at the bottom of the screen.

Or you could stop being a lazy, cheap whore and download em then burn em to a DVD. I'd suggest DVD Flick, it's free, and works fairly well.

If you have cartoon network, Adult Swim's got Bleach going on.
Ironbite-though for how long is anyone's guess.

Then you know what you must do. Ironbite-I'll get the ax. I suggested cut it down a long time ago. All I got was a "I don't want the tree to fall on my house." Which can easily be prevented by standing with your back to the house. Unless your tree falls backwards which would be funny as Hell.

I just download seasons and watch them on my computer. Though season 3 was tough to find and I'm almost through it.

Incidently, we eventually did get the one branch cut off that tree. This one either has to go completely, or get the top chopped off. And you just KNOW we're going to have this problem in a year or less. Fucking forest.

I think there's a paint somewhere that prevents growth in trees wherever you paint it. It's ugly as hell, but it would solve your problem for a good while, if my memory is to be trusted...which it probably isn't.

Honestly, I think that's bullshit, & if we'd look into it, we could find something. To quote myself: "We can split the atom, but we can't stop a tree from growing?

I think next week, I'll search for a site where I can watch Bleach in English, rather than continue straining my eyes on a line of text at the bottom of the screen. The dubbed version of Bleach is physically painful to watch, the voice-acting and the attempts to re-characterise half the characters by giving them different intonation patterns makes it bloody unwatchable
