How the hell did I miss this thread? *bump* What kind of maille are you using? That whole 1250 harness is 10mm butted mild steel mail, I made it myself. I now use 6mm stainless butted but I only do things like gauntlets, coifs and gorgets, I'd hate to contemplate a full harness out of the stuff.

I'm only using partial plate myself, although I do want to get new leg and arm armour. Might start using my bevor again if I can work out a way to breathe when I'm wearing it!

I've seen bevors with breaths, though mine doesn't have them. I'm about 3/4 of the way through completing a late 15th C all plate Gothic style harness... the legs arived a month ago, but havn't taken them out to play yet.

I once had the idea of starting up a group of Defenestration of Prague reenactors, but there are certain legal concerns around throwing people we don't like out of windows, even if it is done in 17th Century Bohemian costume.

Ask the people who re-enact Waffen SS, they'd probably know. ETA: You weren't expecting an answer, were you smart-arse? ;D

Who did you order them from? www.icefalcon.com/ is my current armourer. He makes really nice stuff... best articulation I have seen outside of a museum.

Some not bad stuff there, have you tried Kovex-Ars? They have some very good stuff, they were at Tewkesbury and althought I couldn't afford them (and they have very reasonable rates), I was surprised how light they'd got their weapons. Website is: www.kovex-ars.czHave you ever heard of the fight at Vyborg?

Plus its nice to have harness by the same guy, so the style matches. Heard of, yes...

Vyborg:
I know it's unbelievably dangerous, but I think I should do it at least once in my life. Anyone else want to come?

There's quite a few of us wanting to go, either there or one of the HUGE events the French have. The big one at Carcassonne is supposed to be pretty epic. I've heard tell that some of the Eastern European ones, in countries where public liability and indemnity insurance are not yet a thing, are insane as well. Those of us really serious in Australia are deeply envious. Hell, even just to go on the Ermine St guard's annual bivouac would be pretty cool.
