^^ Did something similar myself once: Me and three mates went from the centre of Manchester to an event in East Anglia in full kit, carrying more weapons than you could possibly imagine. We got some interesting looks on the train..... ;D

Tewksbury this year:
I'm on screen at 0:11, guy with the rolled down hose next to the camp follower.

We got some interesting looks on the train..... ;D I've been into mcDonalds in full gear, always fun. And when people say "why are you dressed like that?" I always say, "Like what?" I've also always wanted to go into a hotel with someone else in full harness and ask for a room for two knights. I'm about to go to work, will check you videos when I get back.

See! This is why I don’t go swimming. Everyone is worried about sharks and I worry about getting challenged to a duel underwater.

Thats what I thought when I saw that photo... I've seen shark resistant mail, this must be the next logical step. Seriously hope it was stainless, or his squire is gunna kill him. ETA: If you look closely, there is a shark silhouette in the middle distance behind him.

The problem with anti-shark mail is that if it's a big shark with strong jaws, it could still crush your arm, or whatever other part of your body it got hold of. Plate would fix that. Can't imagine you'd be able to swim very well in it though.

I've always wondered that about shark mail too... surely any shark small enough that mail would be an adequate defence wouldn't be a problem to humans anyway. But in the "Why? Because awesome!" stakes, full underwater plate for shark poking purposes is right up there.

The thing about maille is that, and the end of the day, it's a series of holes joined together by wire. Just the thing that a shark's tooth could easily get through.

But yes, the similarity between some sharks' teeth and a mail piercing bodkin arrowhead is remarkable Grey nurses in particular spring to mind

Then again, I have fought in some places that were so drenched in rain that you'd be forgiven for thinking it was the ocean - Edgehill in '91 springs to mind, so does the last Bannockburn.
