While having crotch pics is mild, what kinda irked people is that he first tried to deny that it was taken by himself of himself.
I say any future congressman just say admit any mild nasty truths and tell the media to get it over with.

This weiner guy flashed his dick on the net, and has been hounded out of government in, what, a week?
Newt Gingrich has admitted to having at least 3 extra marital affairs, and he's set to be the next president. WTF?

I admit I am sort of angry about the whole thing, not at the Weiner guy, but the hypocrisy of those people ostensibly on my own side of politics. This weiner guy flashed his dick on the net, and has been hounded out of government in, what, a week? Newt Gingrich has admitted to having at least 3 extra marital affairs, and he's set to be the next president. WTF? This! Maybe I wouldn't be as sympathetic to Weiner if the Republican party didn't do worse things than this and still sail through their careers. He kept it in his pants, the girl was 21 and not underage, and the pictures weren't even all that explicit. He wasn't snorting crack off a male prostitute or taking a rentboy on vacation or soliciting policemen in bathrooms with a game of footsie. Larry Craig actually committed a crime (soliciting a police officer for sex) and finished his term after initially saying he would resign. Weiner was drummed out in a week. Who's more of a hypocrite? |

I wish that Obama hadn't pretty much said that Weiner should resign, either. What would the consequences have been of being an adult about the whole thing and just saying "guys, it's his dick. He wasn't funneling money to the Nazis" or whatever? Ooh, maybe the Republicans wouldn't like him!

I think the main issue isn't that he flashed his dick, but that he basically ended up turning it into a security freak out by claiming that he was hacked. Since, you know, a politician getting hacked is a Very Bad Thing.
But of course, that's not what anyone is going to remember. Everyone's going to remember "He flashed his dick to girls on the internet and then resigned"
