So apparently Anthony Weiner, a member of Congress, TwitPicced an image of his dong to some college girl. He's claiming he didn't do it and his account was hacked, but he's being kind of sketchy about it anyway. Personally? I don't care whether or not he did it. It's just providing a lot of opportunity for puns! Come on, the dude's name is Weiner. The jokes write themselves. (not to be offensive to anyone whose surname is Weiner and isn't this guy). Rush Limbaugh actually being kind of funny with penis puns! Why it's sketchy

The Daily Show dedicated their entire 2nd segment to this, and The Young Turks did a similar piece, albeit somewhat more seriously, that takes an unsurprisingly critical view of the whole thing. While both of these are admittedly left-leaning, this Breitbart fellow who seems to be the biggest proponent of this "scandal" doesn't seem to be taken terribly seriously outside of his own circle. I'm not terribly familiar with him, but he doesn't sound like the most trustworthy of sources for such a thing. Kinda hope it's not true. Weiner's one of the only people in public office that I still respect.

I actually have never heard of Weiner before all of this happened. I suppose he's a Democrat, from what I have read?
Well, either way, I don't really care if he did it or not. At least he's not claiming his BlackBerry took the photo through a hole in his pants and uploaded it to Twitter like that Canadian guy did. I just thought all the potential puns that are coming out of this were hilarious in a really immature way.

Yeah, Weiner is a Democrat. As for the whole thing, I'll have to keep an eye on it. I'm skeptical of it due to the past stunts Breitbart has pulled.

Isn't Weiner pronounced wine-ur? I grant you he may be a wiener ...

I think we can assume, given his history, that Breitbart hacked his account to discredit him.

Breitbart... that name sounds really familiar. Was he the one who edits video footage to make things look more incriminating than they actually are?

Yeah, that's him. He's done it with NPR(which I think was audio, but I might be mistaken), Shirely Sherrod, the people who went to Planned Parenthood and pretended to be a pimp and hooker were put up to it by him, and he tried to seduce some CNN reporter and taped it.

He tried to seduce a CNN reporter? What possible political purpose would that serve? Or did he just want to get laid or something?

Oops, I'm wrong, it was O'Keefe that tried to seduce the CNN reporter. I can't remember why he tried to do that, though.

Part of me is hoping that this is real. Why should the right have a monopoly on perverted politicians?

Part of me is hoping that this is real. Why should the right have a monopoly on perverted politicians? This. It's harder to show that we're just as critical of our own side when our side gives us less opportunity to do so
